How many loggers can I run off one Wireless Receiver?
This system has been designed to handle up to 60 loggers. How do I receive notification of alarm conditions?
The software notifies you in two ways of alarm conditions (at the PC running the software).
How does a Logger communicate with the Receiver
When the Logger is setup via the Wizard Software, it is coded to communicate with the Receiver connected to that PC.
The Logger is also assigned a Transmission Frequency of 5, 10 or 15 minutes.
If the Logger is assigned a Transmission Frequency of 5 minutes, every 5 minutes the Logger will send a signal to the Receiver that includes the logged data and Logger battery strength.
The Receiver will take that data and load it into the Wizard database on the PC.
The Receiver will then send a confirmation signal back to the logger telling it that all data has been received and stored.
The logger will clear its memory and continue logging new samples.
If the logger does not receive a confirmation signal from the Repeater, it will save the data just sent and continue logging until the next Transmission time is reached.
Now the Logger will send the saved data from the previous transmission and the newly logged data to the receiver.
If no confirmation signal from the Receiver is received, the Logger will continue to store all logged data.
The logger can store up the 3 days worth of data at a 5 minute sample rate before it begins to write over the oldest samples with new samples.
How does the Wizard Wireless Network keep all of the different Loggers and Repeaters straight?
Can I view logged data over a network?
No, the software is designed to run on only one PC. (No email notification)What are the key features of the Wizard system?
I can not modify my logger/repeater network structure?
Some of the early manual editions contained an error. Please follow these steps:
1. From the Status Screen, right click on the target logger/repeater and select Edit. If you are in the Setup Screen, double click on Logger or Repeater to edit.
2. The Edit Logger/Repeater window will pop up.
3. Change the Setting Way to "Near" and change the Status to "Inactive".
4. Save Changes and trun of logger/repeater.
5. Open Edit Logger/Repeater window again for same logger.
6. Change Setting Way to "Near" and Change Connect Via from Receiver to the target Repeater.
7. Change Status to Active
8. Click on Save Changes and Start.

If the range of data viewed on a graph spans more than three days, the graph time for each day defualts to midnight 00:00:00.Dot Net Framework or DS.EXE Error
While installing the Wizard Software, a Dot Net Framework error message will pop up. You will need to update to Dot Net Framework 2.0. Included on the Wizard Software CD is a folder called Dot Net Fix. Open this folder and run the file dotnetfix.exe.Everything is setup and running properly but my loggers are sending logged data intermittently.
When the PC wants to conserve power, it will shutdown the hard drive when it goes into standby or hibernation. When the hard drive shuts down, the receiver can not operate. Do the following: Open the Control Panel and select Power Options. Under the Power Schemes tab, select Never for Turn off Hard Disk, System Standby and System Hibernates options. If you are using a laptop update both the AC and battery settings. The Receiver will install but will not show as "Connected" in the Wizard software.
Although the Receiver is connected via USB, the device itself is viewed as a Serial device by the PC. This can sometimes cause the PC to get confused, not knowing which port the Receiver is connected to.
If the receiver has installed, but will not show as connected, the best remedy is to completely uninstall the system and reinstall. Complete instructions are below:
A)Turn off the logger and shutdown the Wizard software. Leave the Receiver on and connected to the PC.
B)Uninstall the Receiver using the Uninstalling Receiver instructions from section 6 of your manual. Turn off Receiver and disconnect USB.
C)Uninstall the Wizard Software using the Uninstall instructions from section 6 of your manual.
D)Uninstall the database. NOTE: THIS WILL DELETE ALL LOGGED DATA STORED IN THE DATABASE. IF YOU HAVE LOGGED DATA ON THIS DATABASE FROM THIS OR OTHER LOGGERS, SKIP THIS STEP. To uninstall the database, go to C:Program Files/dickson Delete the Wizard or Wirless folder. (If you are using MS Vista, you will find this file under Desktop/Computer/ Local C/ Users / your login ID/ AppData/ Local/ Virtual Store/ Program Files/ Dickson/ Dickson Wizard/)
E. Using the setup instructions in your manual, reinstall the Wizard Software and Repeater. Once the Repeater is installed, open the software and follow the setup instructions for adding a logger.
If these steps do not work, please contact technical support.
I have just setup my logger and can not get my logger to transmit any data.
Wizard software and the Repeater have been successfully installed, but the logger is not sending data. Please check the following:
1. Do you have full administrative authority on the host PC? Limited PC security can prevent the PC from accepting communications from the logger. Contact your IT or network administrator for assistance.
2. Is the Receiver connected? You should see "connected" in the lower right hand corner of the Wizard software main window.
3. Have you gotten a lost transmission error? If the Logger is on, and the Receiver is connected but more than an hour has gone by without receiving logged data and no Lost Transmission alarm has appeared in the software, please do the following:
a)Turn off the logger and shutdown the Wizard software.

Where are the database and log files stored?
Windows XP and 2000 Users:Right click on START button and click on EXPLORE; C:/Program Files/Dickson/Wizard
Windows Vista Users:
Desktop/ Computer/ Local C/ Users/ your login folder/ AppData/ Local/ Virtual Store/ Program Files/ Dickson/ DicksonWizard/
My Loggers will not install.
If the Receiver has installed and shows "Connected", then please check the following: Make sure that the logger is off (on/off switch is slid to the left) untill you are asked to turn in on after you click on "Save Changes and Start". When you turn the logger on, it should blink red three times and then begin to blink red frequently while it communicates with the Receiver. If the logger does not blink at all, replace the batteries. If the logger blinks 3 times but then does not continue to blink afterward, you will need to do the following:
1) Remove the logger case back by removing the two screws on the back of the case.
2) Locate the white reset button located in the lower right quadrant of the board.
3) Press and hold down the button for 3 seconds.
4) Make sure your logger is off then click on "Save Changes & Start".
Turn on your unit when instructed. The red LED should blink 3x and then blink rapidly until it is setup. If these steps do not work, please contact Customer Service.
Not all of my Humidity data is displayed on my graph.
If humidity data is displayed on the table but does not display on the graph, please check your software version under Help/About if you have version 2.2 or lower, contact customer service for a updated copy of Wizard Software.
Which applications are best for the WT100 vs the WT120?
The WT100 and WT120 are both single channel temperature loggers but they record different temperature ranges and features. The WT100 monitors temperatures from -22 to 122F using an internal temperature sensor. This product is perfect for monitoring storage areas, coolers, incubators, warehouses and office space. If there is a risk of condensation (coolers, refrigerators and freezers) we recommend enclosing the entire unit in a zip lock bag to protect it from moisture.
The WT120 monitors temperature from -40 to 300F using a Thermistor probe. This logger is perfect for monitoring temperature in tight locations, freezers and refrigerators where condensation can occur and in very large containers where the Receiver signal can not pass through. The WT120 logger can stay outside the unit while the probe monitors temperatures inside. The WT120 probe can also be placed in glycol or aluminum tube for temperature stabilization.
The logger readings are way off.
Condensation will affect logger readings. If using a logger in a potentially condensing environment (refrigerators, coolers, freezers), it is recommended that the logger be placed in a zip lock bag to keep condensation from forming on the sensor.First place the logger in a warm dry location to allow the sensor to dry. Then place the logger in a zip lock bag and place in the logging location. Logger response time will be a bit slower.
